Son of More A-Kon Pics!
Dude, I got tons of these. This'll entertain us all for a while. :D

As promised, the L feeding frenzy!

This started as we spotted this contingent of Ls wandering about and called them over:

We, of course, offered them chocolate for posing for us, and THE FRENZY DESCENDED. It looks rather non-frenzied here, so you'll just have to trust me when I tell you how funny it was. :D

Yes, those are chocolate coins. :D

And after the frenzy was over, we spotted this Hinata and her plushie Naruto:

And this is what we were wearing on Saturday.

Another Death Note group. And yes, we have lots more pictures of Death Note groups, as DN was the most popular cosplay at the con. :)

And THEN came the Team Fortress cosplayers!

Attacking the loading dock door.

And two of the funniest T-shirts we saw all con:

Misa from Death Note with a plushie Rem:

A Yachiru from earlier who came back with her boyfriend, who was Kenpachi without the hair. We hope his back held out after repeated piggyback rides for the entire con. (A job hazard of cosplaying Kenpachi in a room full of Yachirus, methinks.)

She was cosplaying Momo from Bleach. The Kermit the Frog bag really sort of fits with teh character, I think. :D

Vash! The repaint version!

Byakuya and Rukia, zanpakutos and all.

More later! :D There's at least 2 more posts worth, if not 3. XD

Those Tshirts are hilarious. I want the back of the right one to say "Mmm, Soylent Red!"

Those are great t-shirts. One of the people in my Japanese class had a similar "...is people" shirt, and it confused the hell out of the half of the class who weren't into anime or manga.

Okay... I'm into anime and manga and I DON'T get it.

Please explain both of those shirts to me!

They're both referencing Fullmetal Alchemist:

Equivalent Exchange is for Losers: the basic rule of alchemy in FMA is that to get something, you have to give up something of equal value. So it's poking fun at that.

The second one ... if you haven't watched FMA, it's a bit of a small spoiler, although one you can easily figure out if you know what it's referencing. So, spoiler code Just In Case. Highlight to read: It's referencing a famous quote from the movie Soylent Green, "Soylent Green is people!" The movie is about a dystopian future suffering overpopulation in which most of the people subsist on rations of wafers called Soylent Green. The main character finds out they're made from human corpses, hence the quote. In FMA, it's found out by the characters that you have to use human souls to manufacture the Philosopher's Stone.

I find it slightly sad that everyone who cosplays as L seems more like they're cosplaying as my cousin Glenn. Then again, an American cosplaying as a Japanese character is hard.

He's such a simple, yet distinctive character that he's quite attractive for people to cosplay.

But wait until you see the L cosplay triplets later. I've even got video of them wandering around. XD
