On the step-up part of the lifting workout, I stopped carrying any weights ... but that's because I moved from the 4" step at our entryway to the 10" height of our brick hearth. :) I can't actually hold any weights while doing that at the moment because I need to be able to lightly tap my hands on the mantelpiece for balance occasionally. Dropping the weights into the glass fireplace doors would be disastrous. XD
