Turns out it's a bug in Wordpress 2.5 that somehow prolongs caching long past the time it ought to. I'm far from the only one experiencing it or frustrated by it.

So if you happen to go to www.projectbluerose.com to, say, PRE-ORDER PROJECT BLUE ROSE: HUMAN TOUCH, then you might find the site not looking like it's changed or like it's not got a thumbnail and link to the new page talking about All the Fishes Come Home to Roost in the sidebar. Don't worry: it should eventually fix itself. :)

Because you have all been demanding them. OK, you were thinking about it. OK, you would ahve thought about it if it had occurred to you.

* We both have talked over backstory, setting, and future developments enough that I need someone who doesn't know any of that to read it and see if it makes any sense.

Had a dream last night that rachelmanija handed me her story for the PBR chapbook and it was 100 pages - which was good, as we have to have a minimum of 48 pages total - but that it was full of typoes and I was trying to collate it and do a page count (again, for some reason) while driving.

I don't think that dream actually needs any interpretation. Especially since I woke up at 7 AM after going to bed at 1 AM. I'll probably nap at some point this afternoon, but I'm going to get some art done first. XD

Re: crockpots: yhlee and anyone else who has a slow cooker and not yet tried the slow cooker plastic liners: I've now tried one and it is muy excellente. You put it in your crock and fold it down over the pot as a whole, put your stuff in, pop the lid on and cook. After it's done and you eat, you empty it out, wait for it to cool, then lift out the dirty liner and toss it in the trash. You only have to clean the lid of the crockpot. Yay! Might get expensive if you cook several times a week - I think I paid $4-5 for the box of four liners, but as I hate hate hate washing the thing since it's so heavy, I find it well worth the expense. Especially as I use the slow cooker on the order of once a month. :D

And now for the hair! Since rachelmanija is viciously off having a life or something and not sitting by her computer awaiting my email and giving me instant feedback on hair, I turn to the internet. I'm updating the hair for Rivas and Jordan in Project Blue Rose* so they will have hair with actual style and not my Generic Default Guy Hairstyles.

Why I'm doing it right now? Because at lunch today I was in line at Subway behind this Hispanic kid from the local high school who had Rivas' exact hair - lovely, thick, glossy, black, straight - and it was artfully cut into a style that I figured Jordan would drag Rivas off to a salon somewhere and make him get. Similar to his previous one-length bob (see icon), with slight layers at the end to make it move, and shorter lengths around the face, swept to one side.

Rivas now gets to grouse about his hair always being in his face.

I'm also working on a new 'do for Jordan, which will have life and movement and not be so damn hard to draw. (For a simple style like he had before, it was damn hard to do consistently.)

SO rachelmanija and I were batting ideas back and forth for illustrated short stories (i.e. illustrated prose, not comic format) in the Project Blue Rose world, and she asked me what I wanted to draw. There's nothing burning in my head that I really want to draw right now, so she suggested I throw the question open to LJ and see what people want to see.

Oh, I know what would get a big response: post to your LJ that you're looking for images and settings to draw the PBR folk in. Include my suggestion of "fetish club" and "black leather with straps and buckles," and the conversation will be off and running, and then you can feed it into the generator. -- quoth the rachelmanija

Oh yeah, as an idea-generator I'm going to make a PBR-tailored version of the cool bits generator. I did it for my Yuletide story, and while it wasn't useful, it was, at least, entertaining. ETA: You can find the Yuletide version here. It was tailored to be suitable for a supernatural story set in Heian Japan.

Oh, yeah, there's something about ... what was it? ... Project Blue Rose II.

OK, I just spent my lunch hour at the post office getting all the Spindrift and PBR books out and I have NO IDEA why none of you on the f-list who ordered it hadn't been bitching at me to get them out. My index finger has no feeling because I spent most of that time punching the screen on the APC machine sending out the domestic packages, because the Post Office, in its infinite wisdom, scheduled only one employee, who was either having a horrible allergy attack or was a cokehead, because he kept sniffing and occasionally having to leave the area to blow his nose, or so he said. And thus there was a line of ten to fifteen people the entire time. I took pity on them and only mailed the international packages at the counter, and sent the domestic ones from the machine.

And in other news, Gin Ichimaru did not show up in my dreams last night*, but Renji did. We were part of a large group of people inexplicably dressed in Victorian clothing going to a movie in a theatre that had metal folding chairs. I had a zanpakuto, but I'd forgotten its name and spent most of the dream trying to remember it. It shot flames out, but I know that was borrowed from the episode of Bleach I'd seen earlier in the day, from the Bount arc, with the doll that shoots flames. If you've seen it, you'll know.


* Honestly, what's with that? I almost never dream of anime characters. Not that I'm complaining, because it's a nice change from the usual round of anxiety dreams or weird, formless, inchoate stuff.
