What I did this weekend:
--washed everything fabric in the apartment.
--folded and put away everything fabric in the apartment
--started in on the huge pile o'crud by the side of my desk (90% of which was manga and art books used as reference for Spindrift and dropped by the side of my desk so I could easily grab them back when I needed them again.*
--the art prompts generator
--played about 3 hours of Okami
--watched about 6 episodes of Bleach
What I did not do:
--Anything that I said I would do
--Anything that really needed to get done, including mail out Spindift and PBR orders, start on commissions, do art critiques, clean out the fridge, make any sort of food that leaves leftovers for lunch, or put cash into my bag for drinks and lunch at work today. And, I'm sure, many other things that I really need to get done, like, now.
* A habit I've had for years. I once had a roommate who was angry that I didn't replace books on the shelves after every use, and never understood the concept that the act of getting up to retrieve a book (a) broke my concentration on what I was doing (art, homework) and (b) led to a greater chance of me not actually getting *back* to whatever it was I was doing.
But this is the person who yelled at me because a friend of ours dropped over unexpectedly while I was doing homework and OMG he had to move the books that I had been using to *do* said homework - actively using, not just there-in-case-I-needed-them - from the couch where I'd been sitting, in order to sit down, i.e. she was INSANE.

Well, I guess we already knew there was a problem with our society's perception of the suitability of sex vs. violence...

Just spent three hours wrestling with a problem in Wordpress that had stymied me for weeks* to discover through a fortuitous combination of Google search terms that the real problem was not Wordpress or, as I thought, Dreamhost disabling a particular command for security reasons, but an over-vigilant Apache security module dedicated to rooting out spammers.** Which is all fine and dandy for comment spam, but not really necessary when I'm posting a page. But I managed to figure out how to disable it for the specific page-posting file and not for any other files in the whole Wordpress install. I feel much relief at this.
* Technically. This was the second time I'd messed with it, after giving up a few weeks back on my first try.
** Which gave an interesting 503 error, which says that the server's too busy, rather than any sort of error that told me what the hell was going on.

Decided to see if there was a crossposting plugin for Wordpress that would post to LJ. Yup. And looks like I can even force comments to be made to WP instead, and have it tag on LJ (not that I have any useful tags on WP). It’s supposed to even edit and update the LJ post if I do that over here on WP.
Now if only I had a use for it… :)
ETA: Well, it posts, although it gives me horrible error messages. :D
ETA2: Testing to see if disabling a particular plugin stops it throwing errors. Mind you, there doesn’t seem to be a way to tell it not to crosspost something if you don’t want to.
ETA3: Yup, a plugin that I don’t even use was causing the problem. Deactivate plugin; problem solved. Woo!
( Testing LJ-cuts to see if they workCollapse )
Um, wow, they do (I’m using the Code editor and not the rich text editor in Wordpress, BTW). Now to test the More tag for WP…

Well, I've managed to get the random generator code to run
It's just not generating. Or maybe it's generating but not posting. I haven't figured that bit out yet.
Figured out. Global variable issue. Working now!
Now to figure out how best to port the generators to WP so as to (a) organize them and future generators and (b) not mess up anybody's links. Hm.

Has anybody else been experiencing a plague of nimrods today or is it just me?
You know how sometimes you reach into the dryer and drag out almost all of the items, and one item manages to escape your clutches and remain in the dryer?( You turn around for HALF A SECOND to put your armload of clothing down and...Collapse )
